Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL)

At the moment, Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) is the nodal agency and the chief facilitator for NTM and the Mission operates from the CIIL premises in Mysore. The Director of CIIL is the Nodal Officer of the Mission. It is envisaged that NTM will eventually become a separate autonomous body after obtaining necessary approval of the competent authority. NTM works in coordination with national organizations such as Sahitya Akademi, National Book Trust (NBT), Centre for Scientific and Technical Terminologies (CSTT), C-DAC etc.

NTM has a Project Advisory Committee (PAC) as the apex decision making body for NTM. It includes 25 experts consisting of Scholars and experts teaching and practising translation; Authors; Littérateurs; Presidents of literary academies; Vice-chancellors of universities; Members from booksellers and publishers guild; Representative of the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India and Professors from institutes like IITs.

Besides PAC, NTM has the following four Subcommittees to guide and advise the Mission in executing its task:
i. Sub-committee for Rates
ii. Sub-committee for Copyright and Legal Matters
iii. Sub-committee for Knowledge Texts
iv. Sub-committee for Grant- in- Aid.
