Bodo Translation Released in Assam

National Translation Mission’s (NTM) Bodo translation of The Penguin History of Early India: From the Origins to 1300 AD by Romila Thapar, ‘Gibi Bharatni Jarimin: Sigangniprai AD 1300 sim’ was released during the 56th Annual Conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) on 5th February, 2017 at Simen Chapori, Dhemaji District, Assam. The launching programme, took place under the president-ship of Shri Biseswar Basumatary, Vice President of BSS, was attended by the translator of the book, Dr. Kameswar Brahma. In the gracious presence of Mrs. Pramila Rani Brahma, Minister of Forest, Government of Assam, Shri. Aleendra Brahma, LJRO, CIIL has released the translation published by BSS. The event was also attended by Shri Rajib Kumar Basumatary and Shri Biswadip Gogoi from NTM, CIIL. Thanking the initiatives of NTM, General Secretary, BSS, Shri Kamala Kanta Mushahary said that this translation is an invaluable gift to the readers from Bodo community, especially the students, researchers and academicians. He said that the collaboration between NTM and Bodo Sahitya Sabha will ensure in bringing out many more such translations in the days to come.
