National translation Mission conducts seminars to disseminate information about
knowledge texts translation.to introduce Translation Studies as a discipline and
to discuss the scope for translation as an income generating source in particular
and to establish translation as an industry in general. Topics like history of knowledge
texts translations, problems of knowledge texts translations, different theoretical
issues in translation are also discussed in the seminars. Approaches to Translation:
Indian and South Asian Perspectives is another major theme of NTM’s seminarswhich
is woven around a series of literary texts translated from Indian languages into
English.
